Japanese artists’ love for Nepali art in exhibition

KATHMANDU, March 29: Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and Toyama Nepal Cultural Exchange Association jointly organized Nepal-Japan Art Exhibition 2018 on Wednesday at Mithila Yein Art Gallery, Thamel.

KATHMANDU, March 29: Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and Toyama Nepal Cultural Exchange Association jointly organized Nepal-Japan Art Exhibition 2018 on Wednesday at Mithila Yein Art Gallery, Thamel.

According to the press statement released by Mithila Yein Art Gallery, the exhibition aims at promoting traditional Mandala art and Nepali Thanka paintings done by Japanese and Nepali artists. The exhibition was inaugurated by vice-chancellor of NAFA Sarada Chitrakar where she appreciated the international artists and their love for Nepali traditional art.


There are a total of 25 art works by Japanese artists in the exhibition that displays traditional as well as modern version of mandala and thanka paintings. Artist Dharma Lama trained the Japanese artists. And the exhibition continues till Thursday.
