KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods such as blankets and plastic sheets to flood-affected people in Nepal.
According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Japanese government is providing the assistance through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) upon the request of the Government of Nepal.

“Upon the request of the Government of Nepal, and in light of the friendly relations between Japan and Nepal, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to Nepal to meet its humanitarian needs,” said the statement.
The Embassy of Japan will hand over the relief materials to the government upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
