Jeep accident update: Casualties identified

MADHYABINDU (NAWALPARASI), Nov 12: The identities of four of the six people killed in a jeep accident that occurred at Devchuli Municipality-9, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) today have been established, police said.

MADHYABINDU (NAWALPARASI), Nov 12: The identities of four of the six people killed in a jeep accident that occurred at Devchuli Municipality-9, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) today have been established, police said.


Three men and as many women died on the spot when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3270) on its way towards Daldale Bazaar from Majhdanda of Baudikali Rural Municipality met an accident at Goreghumti, Devchuli Municipality-9, the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) said.

The deceased have been identified as the jeep driver 26-year-old Bahadur Ale Magar, 55-year-old Tekman Onataki Magar and 52-year-old Kumari Rana of Majhdanda, Baudikali-6 and 12-year-old Karisma Thada of Chulibojha, Bulingtar Rural Municipality-4, said Deputy Superintendent Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).


Among the deceased, the identity of two people is yet to be ascertained. It is said seven people were traveling in the ill-fated jeep. 


Chiran Aryal, 18, of Madanpur, Madhyabindu Municipality-2 is undergoing treatment at the Old Medical College in Chitwan.


The jeep veered off the road and slammed into a house on the roadside, it is said.
