Jhapa reports second COVID-19 death

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 28: An elderly person has succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Jhapa district.

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 28: An elderly person has succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Jhapa district.


The 83-year-old male patient from Kamal Rural Municipality breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), confirmed Indra Aryal, an official of the Kamal Rural  Municipality. He had been suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney problems for long, according to his family members. He was diagnosed with the disease earlier on August 19.

This is the second case of fatality due to COVID-19 infection in Jhapa district. Earlier, one man from Damak had died of this virus in the course of treatment at a hospital in Kathmandu.
