MYAGDI March 2: The Jomsom-Pokhara flight service has come into operation after around three months.
The flight transport service from Pokhara– the provincial headquarter of Gandaki– to a major tourism hub, Jomsom, of Mustang was closed in November 2023 due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Summit Airlines, which suspended its air service since December 6 last year started regular flights boarding on passengers from March 1 (Friday), informed Jomsom Airport Chief Hiron Shah.

Tara Airlines, which operated its service since last November 26 ,has also made preparations to resume Jomsom-Pokhara flights.
"With the improvement in weather and onset of tourist-friendly season, the Pokhara-Jomsom flight service has been brought into operations," Shah shared. The Summit Airlines made two flights on Friday.
The resumption of flight service has eased Mustang locals, pilgrims and tourists when the up-gradation was taking place in Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom road stretch. Inflow of tourists is expected to increase in Mustang with the resumption of flight services.
According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Jomsom, as many as 91,000 foreign tourists had visited Mustang in the year 2023.
The flow of vehicles heading towards Mustang through Beni-Jomsom road has gradually increased lately with the steady rise in temperature, informed Chief of District Traffic Police Office, Rajkumar Thapa.
