Journalist Narayan Wagle’s novel ‘Palpasa Cafe' to be staged

The novel ‘Palpasa Café’ by novelist/ journalist Narayan Wagle is going to be staged as a drama. It is being staged in collaboration with Theater Village and Mandala Theater. Suraj Subedi has adapted the book in the play and Bimal Subedi is directing the same.

The novel ‘Palpasa Café’ by novelist/ journalist Narayan Wagle is going to be staged as a drama. It is being staged in collaboration with Theater Village and Mandala Theater. Suraj Subedi has adapted the book in the play and Bimal Subedi is directing the same.


In a press meet organized recently, Wagle said that he was impressed with the director’s concept and agreed on it. According to him, he is confident that the drama will reflect the current political environment.

A drama workshop is being held at the moment. The play is set to be staged in April or May. Casting director and assistant director Dilip Ranabhat said that the play is planned to be performed in all seven provinces. Along with Swastima Khadka, Sapik Gautam, Rajan Kumar Sunuwar, Jenny Sunuwar, Dipesh Rai, Bachchu Himansu, Ram Krishna Pariyar, Nima Sherpa, Purnima Acharya, Sushma Rai, Roshan Niraula and Kapil Rai are going to be seen on the stage.


The book won Madan Puraskar in 2005 (2061 BS) and has been translated into English, Korean and French languages.
