Judicial Council member Nirala succumbs to coronavirus

KATHMANDU, May 4: Laxmi Bahadur Nirala, a member of the Judicial Council, has succumbed to the coronavirus disease.

Nirala breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Nepal Armed Police Force Hospital in Balambu, Kathmandu on Tuesday morning, confirmed Raju Aryal, deputy inspector general and spokesperson for the hospital. 


Nirala, who had also served as the Attorney General for four months from December 26, 2005 during King Gyanendra’s direct rule, was admitted to the hospital on April 23 after being diagnosed with the disease.
