July brings 64,500 tourists to Nepal amid off-season

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The arrival of foreign tourists in Nepal has decreased due to off-season. A total of 64,599 tourists arrived in Nepal by air in the month of July.

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The arrival of foreign tourists in Nepal has decreased due to off-season. A total of 64,599 tourists arrived in Nepal by air in the month of July. 


According to the Nepal Tourism Board, this number is 11.91 per cent more than that in the previous year, but the number is significantly lower compared to June. A total of 76,736 tourists visited Nepal in June.

In July, 21,491 foreign tourists visited Nepal from India. Similarly, 7,834 tourists  were from the US, 6,819 from China, 3,806 from the UK, 3,470 from Bangladesh, 1,901 from Australia, 1,537 from South Korea, 1,125 from Malaysia and 1,114 from Japan. 


A total of 128,000 foreign tourists visited Nepal in March this year. However, in April the number dropped down to 111,000 and 90,000 in May.
