The nominations for 2022's MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) have been announced, and several K-Pop artists have made it to the list of nominees. The popular band, BTS has been nominated in four categories consisting of Best K-Pop, Best Choreography, Best Metaverse Performance, and Best Visual Effects.

According to reports, the rising artist Seventeen has been nominated for three categories this year, including Best New Artist, Push performance of the Year, and Best K-Pop. On the other hand, Blackpink has been nominated for Best Metaverse Performance, while Lisa got a separate nomination for Best K-Pop, making her the first K- Pop artist to receive a solo nomination at the VMA's. Similarly, Lisa got a separate nomination for Best K-Pop with “Lalisa”.
The fandoms - including ARMY, Blinkks, and Carats are on the edge of their seat, hoping that their favorite group wins. BTS has won at the VMA's for the last three years. ARMY hopes that they achieve a victory this time too. A fan wrote, " Y'all better take the VMA seriously, because k-pop fans will be voting for sure, we better give these wins to BTS only."
According to a report of Pinkvilla, the Best K-Pop category for this year sees BTS for ‘Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)’, ITZY for ‘LOCO’, Lisa for ‘LALISA’, SEVENTEEN for ‘HOT’, Stray Kids for ‘MANIAC’, and TWICE for ‘The Feels’.
