K-pop band BTS member Jin begins military service in South Korea

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: K-pop band BTS member Jin (Kim Seok-jin) has begun his mandatory military service at an army training center in South Korea on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: K-pop band BTS member Jin (Kim Seok-jin) has begun his mandatory military service at an army training center in South Korea on Tuesday.


Jin will spend 18 months of duty after five weeks of training in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do according to international media.

According to The Guardian, Jin posted a photo of himself with his new haircut on the online fan platform Weverse. In the post, he wrote, “It’s time for a curtain call.” He added, “Ha ha ha. It’s cuter than I expected.”


The band announced that they will be going on hiatus on July and reunite around 2025.
