Karate team to leave for Switzerland

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: A Nepali Karate team consisting of two players and three members is set to leave for Switzerland on Thursday to take part in the 11th Basel Open Masters Karate Tournament.

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: A Nepali Karate team consisting of two players and three members is set to leave for Switzerland on Thursday to take part in the 11th Basel Open Masters Karate Tournament.


Suman Timalisina and Saroj Karki are the players who will be representing Nepal at the tournament which is scheduled to be held on September 11-12. Similarly, Suman will compete in the senior single kata performance while Saroj will be competing at the men’s under 84 kg category at the event. Suman will also fulfill the role of an instructor at the event.

Similarly, Prajwal Prathik Chhetri will be the official for Nepal at the event. The competitors will need to present a PCR report not exceeding 72 hours. The team travelling to Basel was bid farewell by BR Mitra, General Secretary of Nepal Goju-Ryu Karate Association at an event on Wednesday. The team will be leaving for Basel on Thursday at 8PM.
