KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Local units of Kavrepalanchok district have signed an 11-point agreement with the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) in order to expedite the reconstruction works in the district.
Project head of the District Project Implementation Unit (DPIU), Kavrepalanchok Lekhnath Regmi and the people's representatives from the local units signed the agreement on Monday following two days of program on reconstruction in Dhulikhel.

According to the agreement, the authority will send the needed skilled manpower including engineers, sub-engineers and assistant sub-engineers to the local units while the local units will have to look after manpower management. The engineers provided by the authority will only be given their salary after the local units verify their attendance and send it to the DPIU. The local units will also have the authority to transfer an engineer to any other local unit.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NRA Sushil Gyewali expressed his belief that the agreement will help to complete the ongoing reconstruction works on time. He added that the local units of other earthquake-affected districts will also follow suit.
Similarly, Provincial Assembly member of Province 3 Laxman Lamsal claimed that the reconstruction agreement in Kavre will set a new precedent.
The local units of Kavre also prepared their working procedure to complete the remaining reconstruction process within the ongoing fiscal year.
