Khanal fears constitution would fail in absence of elections

BIRTAMOD, March 4: CPN (UML) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has said that the constitution promulgated through the Constituent Assembly (CA) would fail if all three tiers of elections were not held by January 21, 2018.


Addressing a mass meeting organized by the UML in Birtamod today as a part of its Mechi-Mahakali Campaign, Khanal said that timely elections were needed and constitution should be implemented to institutionalize the changes.

He added that the Mechi-Mahakali Campaign launched by the party would pile pressure for statute implementation and hold elections.


On the occasion, UML top leaders welcomed new entrants to the party and honoured some aged communist leaders. RSS
