MAKAWANPUR, Dec 28: Two women and two men allegedly went missing from the ashram of Ram Bahadur Bomjon, known as ‘Little Buddha’ around five years ago, according to complaints filed with police by the kin of the missing against Bomjon.
The families of the missing filed separate complaints with the police.
19 husbands file complaints against their wives
Family members of Phulmaya Rumba, 30, of Makawanpur, and Sanchalal Waiba, 51, of the same district filed complaints with the district police on Wednesday. Likewise the family of the third missing, Karma Waiba, 29, of Nuwakot, filed a complaint at the District Police Office (DPO), Makawanpur, on Thursday and Hasta Bahadur Ale, the father of the fourth missing Suresh Alemagar, 26, of Kalaiya, Bara, filed complaint at the District Police Office in Kalaiya on Thursday seeking police help to search for his missing son.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yagya Prasad Bhattarai, who is also the spokesman of the DPO, informed that Phulmaya’s brother Bijaya, and Sanchalal’s son Mahendra filed police cases. All the victims are said to have disappeared around five years ago from Bomjon’s ashram in Sindhupalchowk.
“We have already started search operation in Bara, Sindhupalchowk, Lamjung, Sarlahi and other places where Bomjom’s ashrams are located. Families of the missing are said to have made several attempts to locate the whereabouts of their relatives, but to no avail. They have inquired with Bomjom about their missing kin during his Lalitpur visit but were not satisfied with his answer.
“Before heading for Makawanpur to Bomjom’s ashram, my father had told me that he would return very soon,” said Mahendra, son of Sanchalal. “But he later disappeared and could not be contacted. “His phone couldn’t be reached and we also attempted to search for him but in vain. So I filed case at the DPO as a last resort.”
