‘Kitab Jatra 2078' to begin on September 26

Kitab Yatra Foundation is going to organize the fourth edition of ‘ Kitab Jatra’. The seven-day long festival, Kitab Jatra 2078, is scheduled to begin on September 26 and end on October 2.

According to a press statement issued by Kitab Jatra, due to the pandemic, this year too the festival will be held virtually. It will be aired on AP 1 HD Television and one can also view the entire session from the official YouTube channel.


The festival aims to establish the idea that the reading culture should become an integral part of the people's lives. The press statement quoted Kala Anuragi, secretary of the foundation, as saying, "There will be eight sessions involving personalities from the fields of literature, language, cinema, music, finance, entrepreneurship and society."


On the occasion, an individual who has contributed to the Nepali literature will be awarded the ‘Prem Sahitya Samaan’. The bestselling book from Kitab Jatra — an online platform for selling books - will be given the 'Kitab Yatra Best Seller Award.' The festival also features a digital book exhibition among other activities.


This year's honor and award will be announced on the first day of Kitab Jatra.
