KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) launched a week-long campaign beginning last Sunday (Jan 6) to promote the use of pedestrian bridges to ensure pedestrian safety while crossing roads in the capital city.

During the campaign which will run till January 12, students, traffic police personnel, and city police personnel will raise awareness among pedestrians to use the pedestrian bridges. Currently there are nine pedestrian bridges in Kathmandu. To make the campaign successful, student volunteers will stay near such bridges to make the pedestrians aware about the use of zebra crossings and pedestrian bridges.
