KMC issues 35-day ultimatum to remove garbage within one’s office premises

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has instructed all concerned to keep their office premises clean.


Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the metropolis has warned that action will be taken if the office premises are not found clean. An ultimatum has been given to manage the waste within 35 days. It is mentioned in the notice that the beauty of the city has decreased as the office complexes are not clean.

"Government and public offices, institutes, various establishments, health and educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, companies and other private offices within the city have not been regularly cleaned. The urban beauty has deteriorated," the notice said. "Pieces of old equipment are scattered on office premises. If all those concerned do not manage the garbage within 35 days, they will be fined according to the prevailing law.”


The metropolis has suggested that it is the responsibility of every citizen and organization to manage their waste properly.
