KMC removes illegal structures and unmanaged garbage from in front of Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU, May 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has removed the illegal structures and haphazardly thrown garbage in front of Singha Durbar.

KATHMANDU, May 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has removed the illegal structures and haphazardly thrown garbage in front of Singha Durbar.


Illegal structures and unorganized garbage from Rastriya Banijya Bank to Nepal Telecom's Central Office, have been removed. KMC Police Chief Rajunath Pandey said they have been working to remove the unorganized garbage around the building three days ago. The metropolis has conducted a special cleaning campaign.

"We have removed illegal structures and unorganized garbage in front of Singha Durbar. The metropolis has been requesting cleanliness in front of their homes and offices. Everyone should be responsible for making the metropolis clean and tidy," he said.


Pandey mentioned that there is a discussion on the issue of fines for illegal structures and unorganized garbage in front of government offices. Illegal structures built by restaurants and others under the bridge in front of the west gate of Singha Durbar have been removed. The metropolis has cleaned the surroundings of the Tukucha River and removed the toilets and other storage facilities.


Stating that the metropolis is conducting a special cleanliness campaign every day in different places, Pandey also mentioned that a tree planting program will be held next Saturday.
