The insurance program, which has already started in 75 districts across the country, recently started in two municipalities of the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Maharjan says that although the building for the first entry point has been constructed, the necessary infrastructure has not been completed in some of them, so the insurance has to be started only from next year. According to Maharjan, for the current health insurance program to be implemented, there has to be an entry-point hospital within the metropolitan city and the services such as lab, x-ray, video x-ray (ultrasound) etc should be mandatorily available at that hospital with a doctor.

For the entry-point hospital to implement the health insurance program, the metropolis has prepared manpower, doctors and paramedics and plans to provide services such as X-ray, video X-ray and other necessary equipment.
