Kathmandu to be developed as film shooting destination
KATHMANDU, June 14: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled its plans to use the open-air stadium for sports development initiative.

Shah said, “The open-air stadium in Kathmandu will be transformed into an open area for exercise and utilized to foster sports development.”
Kathmandu is also set to be developed as a premier film shooting destination. Presenting the policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/25 on Friday, Mayor Balendra Shah announced plans to position Kathmandu as a key location for film production.
Shah stated, "Kathmandu will be identified as a film city and developed into a suitable location for film shooting."

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced a total ban on smoking, drinking, and drug use in public places.
KMC Mayor Balendra Shah announced this while presenting the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25. In addition, he stated that the use of junk food will be discouraged.
Mayor Shah emphasized that necessary arrangements will be made to ensure the quality and hygiene of food items entering the metropolitan city. Furthermore, a targeted program will be introduced for multifaceted urban poverty alleviation, he added.
