Labor minister instructs officials to address foreign employment victims’ grievances on time

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, Krishna Kumar Shrestha has directed the Department of Foreign Employment to address the grievances of the victims of foreign employment in a timely manner.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, Krishna Kumar Shrestha has directed the Department of Foreign Employment to address the grievances of the victims of foreign employment in a timely manner.


While monitoring the office of the Department of Foreign Employment at Buddhanagar in Kathmandu on Sunday, Minister Shrestha instructed the officials to understand the grievances of the victims of foreign employment and not delay in resolving their problems.

He said that during the monitoring he found that the employees of the department were not interested in solving the problems of the victims. He also instructed the employees of the department to improve their working style.


Minister Shrestha said that a workers' help desk would be set up at the Tribhuvan International Airport in a few days to facilitate workers in the foreign land.


Minister Shrestha also requested the staff including the Director General and the Director to discuss and submit to the Ministry how to bring improvements to the Department of Foreign Employment and what are the problems of the department and how the grievances of the victims can be heard as soon as possible.
