He was working at the under-construction building of Birat Health Care on the college premises of Birat Teaching Hospital. While washing his hands and feet before going home after completing the work of the building under construction, Sardar was electrocuted by the electric motor connected to the faucet.

DSP Deepak Shrestha, spokesperson for Morang Police, said that Sardar, who was injured due to the electric shock, died during treatment at the same hospital on Sunday. After Sardar's death, his body has been kept in the hospital's emergency room after his family members refused to receive the body.

The family members have claimed that the accident happened due to negligent connection of the motor to the handpump and took a stand that they will not receive the body until they get proper compensation. Stating that Birat Teaching Hospital and Birat Health Care are under the Birat Group, Pramesh Devkota, head of administration of the hospital, said, "He did not die while working for the hospital, but he died during treatment at the hospital." Deceased Sardar was electrocuted while working at the Birat Health Care.
