Darchula, Feb 26 : A person died and two others were injured when a landslide occurred at Ratakatha of under-construction Darchula-Tinkar road in Duhun Rural Municipality-3.
Raghibir Singh Dhami, 39, of Naugad Rural Municipality-4, Sipti died on the spot when the landslide occurred ttis morning buried him, shared Rabindra Kathayat, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP).
Thami who was getting the cattle to Byas area from Khalanga for grazing was buried in the landslide debris rolling down from the road side.
Landslide leaves two dead, three injured
The injured are Mansingh Thagunna of Naugad-4 and Udharo Thagunna of ward-3.
Udharo Thagunna had sustained head injuries, shared Dambar Dutta Bhatta, health assistant at the district hospital. Mansingh has injuries on his hand.
It may be noted that the explosives were blasted on Darchula-Linker road section on Monday.
Dinesh Raikhola, engineer at the Darchula-Linker road project, shared that the road widening drive was gaining full momentum.
The landslide might have occurred due to rain last night. RSS
