Last rites of tourism entrepreneur Ang Tshiring Sherpa performed

KATHMANDU, March 3: Last rites of tourism entrepreneur Ang Tshiring Sherpa, who was killed in Air Dynasty chopper crash in Taplejung on February 27, have been performed on Sunday. 



Sherpa's last rites were performed at Tekughat as per Buddhist ritual, said Manager at Yeti Airlines, Bhimraj Rai. Earlier, last rites of six other persons, who were also killed in the same chopper crash, were performed on Friday. 



Also the Managing Director of Yeti Airlines, Late Sherpa has a significant contribution to the tourism sector. 



A helicopter of Air Dynasty carrying a team comprising Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari crashed at Darebhir of Taplejung on February 27 killing all seven onboard the helicopter including the pilot. The team that had left Kathmandu for a feasibility study of the airport at Chuhandanda of Terhathum was returning after worship at Pathibhara Temple. 



Others, who lost their lives in the crash, were Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Birendra Prasad Shrestha, Director Durba Bhochhibhoya, Undersecretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Yubraj Dahal, Captain Pravakar KC and Adhikari's personal security officer, Arjun Kumar Ghimire.
