KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Lawmaker Ek Nath Dhakal has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to address the demand of Ganga Maya Adhikari, who is fighting for justice for her son.

Speaking at the zero hour of the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday, lawmaker Dhakal, who is also a former Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, reminded Prime Minister Dahal of his commitment in the government’s policy and programs to conclude the remaining tasks of the peace process within two years.

“Nanda Prasad Adhikari of Gorkha, who was on hunger strike for 330 days demanding action against the murderer of his son, died on September 22, 2014. His body has been rotting in the hospital for the past 9 years. He sacrificed his life for justice and should have been declared a martyr,” said Dhakal.

Lawmaker Dhakal said that Gaga Maya Adhikari, the wife of deceased Nanda Prasad, is still waiting for truth and justice in a poor condition. “My question to the Right Honorable Prime Minister is when and how will the demand of Gagamaya Adhikari, the wife of deceased Nanda Prasad, be addressed?” he asked.

“Is it not the Prime Minister's duty to meet Ganga Maya Adhikari, who has been on a peaceful hunger strike for years for justice? When are you going to visit her? When will the peace process be completed?” he asked further.
