Lawmakers, after a field visit, urged the government to take enough measures to prevent such heinous acts in the future.
"This case is heart wrenching. After meeting the family members of the deceased we would like to say that proper investigation should be done in this case," said lawmaker Sundar Bishwokarma. "Similarly, some practical measures must be taken to prevent such crimes," he added.
Four Dalit lawmakers had made the field visit on Wednesday and met the family members. The girl's burnt body was recovered near her own house at Hariharpur in Mithila Municipality.
