KATHMANDU, April 26: Lawmakers put up various contemporary issues in today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).
CPN-UML leader Surya Prasad Dhakal demanded that the fire victims of Narenapur in Banke district be provided with relief and compensation. Many houses and properties worth over Rs 2.5 million were destroyed in the fire on April 21.

Hit Bahadur Tamang from the CPN (Maoist Center) drew the attention of the government to address the demands of Shreeram Ghimire, a farmer of Kakani Rural Municipality-2 in Nuwakot district, who is on a hunger strike at Bhugol Park in Kathmandu since a week putting forth a five-point demand relating to agriculture.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Tejulal Chaudhary also urged the government to provide relief and compensation to the fire victims in Saptari constituency-4 some days ago. At least 14 houses were reduced to ashes and cattle killed in the blaze, he said.
Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Manish Jha stressed the need for the authorities concerned to carry out a study and analysis on how safe the sky of our country is referring to an aviation issue of Monday night.
Independent lawmaker Amaresh Kumar Singh raised the issue of misappropriation of money in the renewal of the license relating to telecommunication service provider and on the issue of whether or not the Nepal Stock Exchange should be privatized.
