KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Lawmakers have expressed their concern about the transfer of civil servants based on 'political attachment' instead of performance.

Speaking in zero-hour of today's meeting of the National Assembly, lawmaker Binda Devi Ale Rana sought clarification from the government about the 'random' transfer and promotion of government employees.

Likewise, Radhe Shyam Adhikari also protested the transfer of 16 secretaries. "Separate performance agreements were reached between Prime Minister and ministers and ministers and secretaries some one month ago. But the transfer has been done in haste," he said.

This may make administrative mechanism unstable which would result in affecting the implementation of government's policies and programmes, they said.
