LAHAN, April 5: A dozen district level leaders and cadres of the National Madhes Socialist Party led by Sharad Singh Bhandari have resigned en masse.

Party's former central member and founding leader, Bharat Prasad Sah, among other leaders issued a joint press statement on Monday declaring their decision to quit the party.

NMSP's Saptari district vice chairmen, Baiju Prasad Das and Bhagirath Prasad Sah, Joint Secretary Lalan Prasad Yadav, district members Rasdev Ram, Chittaranjan Sada, Ram Chandra Chaudhary, Kulananda Chaudhary, Musandiwati Chaudhary, Sanjeev Kumar Sah, district advisor Yugeshwor Sah and youth organization eastern district chairman, Sanat Ali have left the party.

They have cited favoritism, selfishness and opportunism in the party as the reason behind their en masse resignation. In a statement, they said they did not feel comfortable in the increasing non-political trend of giving access to close friends to higher posts.

Despite repeated protest over development of such culture inside the party, the leaders and cadres said their grievances were not addressed. The leaders have said they were compelled to resign en masse to save their political dignity and identity. RSS
