‘Lest We Forget Kanchanpur Diaries’: Fundraising musical event for Kanchanpur’s rape-murder victim to begin today

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: As a Tribute to late Sunny Khuna and fundraising  for critically injured Arjun Bhadra and Surendra Deuba during the clash against Nirmala Panta rape and murder case on August 24 in Kanchanpur, the music event entitled ‘Lest We Forget Kanchanpur Diaries’ will be held on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: As a Tribute to late Sunny Khuna and fundraising  for critically injured Arjun Bhadra and Surendra Deuba during the clash against Nirmala Panta rape and murder case on August 24 in Kanchanpur, the music event entitled ‘Lest We Forget Kanchanpur Diaries’ will be held on Saturday. 


The music event at Moksh, Jhamsikhel will lineup prolific Nepali band such as Cobweb, 1974 AD, Albatross , Mukti and Revival followed by  Joint Family International, Newaz, Space, Kazuki JJ, ASM and Blues Co.

According to Jason Baidya, one of the coordinators of the event and lead guitarist of Blues Co, the amount raised from the music event will be be handed over to families of victim. Baidya is also one of activists of the poster campaign. It has been closely monitoring Nirmala’s case from earlier. Baidya said the event is about musician’s solidarity upon the victims protestors (one lost his life mad two were seriously injured) during clash in Kanchanpur. 


The event will kick off 12 PM onward with opening performance from Cobweb.  The ticket is priced for Rs 500.
