Following the torrential rain last night, Bhaktapur area had become waterlogged due to the flooding caused by the swollen Hanumante khola rivulet. Settlements at local area were inundated. The floodwater entered the ground floor in several houses in the area. The shops and stores were all closed due to the inundation. Lumani Datta Parajuli- one of the locals, was in shock to see waterlogged around his settlement.
Life is never too pointless to be ended
He was at his home when the floodwater entered at around seven in morning. He was preparing for the rituals marking Shraddha (death anniversary) of his mother. Final preparation was going on, when his house was under water. His son-in-law rescued him and his wife to the first floor of the house. He even did not have a second of time to move out of his house. He had food in the upper floor of his house. He said,” We lost everything; our life is floating on floodwater.”
