Issuing a statement, the local administration also said that those participating in such activities will face action as per the Local Administration Act, 2028 BS, and Infectious Diseases Act, 2020 BS. The request of Kathmandu DAO comes a day after a mass demonstration was held in Kathmandu demanding the restoration of monarchy in Nepal.

“As COVID-19 is still spreading, it is the responsibility of all people to follow health protocols of the Ministry of Health and Population. Participating in rallies and demonstrations increases the risk of COVID-19 in the city,” the administration said in a statement.
