BAITADI, June 8: Voters in rural areas of Baitadi district are worrying of higher number of invalid votes despite their happiness to participate in the local level elections taking place after around two decades.
Janaki Rana of Dilasaini-1 shared, "We have heard that the ballot paper is unusually big this time so the voters are worried of invalid votes".
Voters' education to volunteers starts
No one has come to educate on how to cast ballots, he said, adding, "There is confusion among majority of voters on how to cast vote".
Leaders and cadres of political parties are coming to the doorsteps of voters for vote but are not educating people on how to vote, said Uddhav Prasad Bhatta, a local. "There are high chances that many votes may go invalid as the women from rural areas are not aware on how to cast vote".
"I am curious to cast my vote but not aware on how to vote", said Laxmi Dyar, a local.
However, the Baitadi District Education Office stated that volunteers for voters' education have been deputed to villages since May 19. RSS
