Local govts in Kathmandu Valley to suspend all but essential services for three weeks

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Local governments in Kathmandu Valley have decided to suspend all but essential services for 21 days starting Monday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Starting Monday, local governments in Kathmandu Valley have decided to suspend all but essential services for 21 days.


The Municipal Mayor Forum made the decision to this effect in view of the sudden spike in the COVID-19 cases in Kathmandu Valley in the past few days.

According to Madan Sundar Shrestha, Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, the Forum decided to suspend all the services except for essential services in order to contain the spread of the virus.


The Forum has also urged the government of Nepal to suspend the operation of public vehicles in Kathmandu Valley.
