JANAKPUR, Feb 10: The Madhes Province government is preparing to celebrate the People’s War Day on February 13.
Honoring and providing financial assistance to the martyrs’ families are the parts of the celebrations, according to the Province Government.
Govt declares public holiday on Sunday for Bhoto Jatra
This is the first time that the People’s War Day is to be observed in the province which has been also celebrating Magh 5 in the Nepali calendar each year as the ‘Madheshi Sacrifice Day’.
Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to address the commemorative event to be organized by the Madhesi Martyrs’ Academy under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, according to Ministry secretary Ram Kumar Mahato.
On the occasion, 40 martyrs’ families from all eight districts will be felicitated and provided with financial assistance.
