Madhesh Province Chief calls for formation of new govt as CM Yadav fails trust vote

JANAKPURDHAM, June 6: Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari has called for the formation of a new government following the failure of Chief Minister (CM) Saroj Kumar Yadav to secure a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly on June 5.

JANAKPURDHAM, June 6: Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Bhandari has called for the formation of a new government following the failure of Chief Minister (CM) Saroj Kumar Yadav to secure a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly on June 5.


Acting Secretary of the Office of Province Chief, Satrughan Yadav, issued a notice stating that members of the provincial assembly have until 10:00 AM on Friday (June 7) to present a claim for the CM position as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.

The notice specifies that any member who can secure a majority with the backing of two or more political parties represented in the provincial parliament is invited to stake their claim to the CM role by the deadline.
