DAMAULI, Dec 23: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today viewed that the ongoing Mahasamiti meeting was playing an important role in correcting shortcomings within the party and paving the way for unity.
The party's statute endorsed from the meeting has been inclusive and best in the world, he claimed, while talking to media-persons at his home district Tanahun. "No particular leader will have the upper hand in the party. The statute will help drive the party on a democratic path, and democratize the party as a whole," he asserted.

According to him, efficiency and contribution to the party will be counted to run the party leadership, while nepotism is discouraged.
On the issue of Hinduism on which there is a division within the party, he said the party should not involve in disputes of religion. "The NC is a representative of all people. The party cannot be run by only a particular group."
