Making of ‘Chauka Dau' to begin in Baishakh

KATHMANDU, March 17: The making of ‘Chauka Dau’, an entertainment movie based on comical love story, will start from Baishakh, first month according to Bikram Sambat. The announcement was made at an event organized in Kathmandu on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, March 17: The making of ‘Chauka Dau’, an entertainment movie based on comical love story, will start from Baishakh, first month according to Bikram Sambat. The announcement was made at an event organized in Kathmandu on Thursday. 


Music for the movie will be given by renowned musician and vice-chancellor of Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, Shambhujit Baskota. His son Sauryajiv Baskota will be producing the film, according to a press statement issued on Friday.

The announcement coincided with the birth anniversary of musician Baskota. The movie is being planned to be released during the Nepali festival of Tihar. Baskota stated that Chauka Dau will be the ninth film based on his story writing.


Purnendu Jha is the director of the movie. “Chauka Dau is quite different from the political genre of his previous film Samrakchhan,” Jha said.


Casting of the movie comprises of Wilson Bikram Rai, Rabindra Jha, Santosh Pant, Taiyab Shah, Nirmal Sharma, Rameshranjan Jha, Pushkar Bahadur Gurung. However, the starring actors are yet to be decided.


“I found the storyline interesting and decided to collaborate with the team,” said senior actor, Santosh Pant. Likewise, actor Wilson Bikram Rai expressed his gratitude for having the opportunity to work with experienced musician Shambhujit Baskota.
