KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The police have arrested Lokendra Kumar Tiruwa, 29, of Dailekh, on the charge of rape. The police arrested him from Kathmandu after receiving a complaint that he had raped a young woman by luring her with promises of securing a job in the police force.
As per the complaint filed with the police, the victim, a resident of Jajarkot, had befriended Tiruwa through Facebook a month prior. During their interaction, the victim expressed her aspirations to join the police force.

"Later, he repeatedly contacted me on the phone and told me that he knows my elders, and said that he will facilitate me to get a job in the police force, and that we should sit down and talk," the victim said. The victim added, “I believed him and I agreed to meet him. On January 21 at 3:30, I went to Ratnapark to meet him.”
She said that around 5:45 PM he said, "I am hungry, let’s go to the hotel for tea.” The victim said, “We walked together and he took me to Sikless Guest House in Kathmandu-11, Sundhara, under various pretexts.”
She has filed a complaint saying that he took her to a room of the lodge and raped her.
After a thorough investigation, the police submitted a report to the District Government Attorney’s Office, recommending action against Tiruwa for the crime of rape. Subsequently, based on this report, a case was filed at the District Court, Kathmandu, on Sunday.
