Man held on charge of raping daughter

UDAYAPUR, Dec 18: A 40-year-old man of Triyuga Municipality-11 in Udayapur district has been arrested on charge of raping his 13-year-old daughter.

UDAYAPUR, Dec 18: A 40-year-old man of Triyuga Municipality-11 in Udayapur district has been arrested on charge of raping his 13-year-old daughter. 


According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the man was held on charge of repeatedly raping his daughter for the past several months. 


Chief of Udayapur Police Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dahal said that investigations are currently underway as probe was initiated against the accused persons after an application was lodged on charge of rape.

Police said that health checkups of the victim were conducted in the District Hospital.   


Meanwhile, two parents and a newly-wed couple were arrested in the district on charge of child marriage.   


Pushpa Koirala of Triyuga Municipality-3, Radha Khadka of Tapli Rural Municipality-5 and newly-weds Ashwin Koirala and Goma Khadka were held.


SP Dahal said that all the four were nabbed as a complaint was lodged against them over child marriage. Police said that the 16-year-old Goma and the 23-year-old Ashwin were secretly married off by their parents on December 4 in Katari Municipality in the district.   


Similarly, Kheli Karki and Durga Bahadur Khadka from the district were also nabbed on charge of their involvement in child marriage.
