Man held with Leopard skin

BAITADI, April 19: A person was held with Leopard hide from Patan of Baitadi on Wednesday.

BAITADI, April 19: A person was held with Leopard hide from Patan of Baitadi on Wednesday. 


The District Police Office, Baitadi shared that Mahesh Singh Sutar of Shivanath rural municipality-6 was attested in possession of Leopard skin. Police Inspector at Baitadi District Police Office Hariom Khadka informed that the Leopard skin seized was five feet nine inch long and two feet wide.

Arrested Sutar was handed over to the District Forest Office on Wednesday for necessary action.


Sutar would be penalized over Rs 20,000 and sentenced to jail for six months according to the Forest Act 2049 BS and National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act-2039 (Amendment 2073 BS), informed Assistant Forest Officer at District Forest Office Baitadi, Ram Prasad Chaudhary. RSS
