KATHMANDU, August 3: Central Committee members of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) have demanded an investigation into the assets of party leaders. Following Chairman Dahal's address, Maoist Central Committee members demanded a thorough investigation into the assets of the top Maoist leaders.

Out of the total 385 central members who participated in the meeting, approximately 40 presented their opinions on Wednesday. The majority of them emphasized the need for the party leadership to take a strict stance against corruption and called for an investigation into all leaders' assets.

The central members demanded that the assets of leaders who have the opportunity to hold various public positions, including in the government, should be investigated as they are perceived to be catalysts for corruption.

Addressing the meeting at the beginning, Chairman Dahal stated that the Maoist party is not just like any other party and emphasized the need to initiate a comprehensive campaign to strengthen the party.

He further asserted that, under his leadership, the government has taken strict measures in favor of good governance. After Dahal confirmed that the anti-corruption campaign will not cease, the central members also insisted on the need to start the cleansing campaign from within the party.
