"The US is hell-bent on crushing China. Now, the US is making utmost efforts to draw Nepal into its security orbit. Therefore, the US has come up with USD 500 million MCC grant to contain China," Thapa said during the party's internal orientation program in the district.

He argued that Nepal will become of playground of the United States if Nepal endorses the MCC as it is. "The MCC won’t be approved through the Parliament without making necessary amendments on it," the minister asserted.

Meanwhile, Minister Thapa inaugurated a newly-constructed building of District Administration Office, Parbat. Addressing the government officials, Thapa urged them focus on the effective public service delivery. "I urge you all to work as the servant of the people not the ruler," he said. The home minister also said that the government is making preparations to establish police at the provincial level.

Minister Thapa said that border issues with the southern neighbor India will be resolved soon. "The government is serious towards preserving the country's territorial integrity. It is making efforts to retrieve encroached Nepali territories," he said.
