Media to make government effective: Chief Minister Gurung

POKHARA, Feb 8: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the media could play important role to make the central and provincial governments more effective. The media's role is equally significant to educate the people, he added.

POKHARA, Feb 8: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the media could play important role to make the central and provincial governments more effective. The media's role is equally significant to educate the people, he added. 


Inaugurating the first general convention of the Parliamentary Journalists' Forum province chapter here Friday, Chief Minister Gurung said the parliament could be developed as the platform to solve the people's problems. Robust coordination among all three layers of government is imperative to flourish the federal system.

Effective running of the parliamentary system is the need of hour, he said, urging media to disseminate factual news on government activities. 


On the occasion, Speaker of the provincial parliament, Netranath Adhikari, viewed that media could assist the provincial government scientifically because it was a new practice in the country. 


Similarly, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Hari Bahadur Chuman, praised the media that it has functioned as a bridge between the government and people. RSS
