KATHMANDU, March 28: Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has finally started distributing the drinking water brought through the Melamchi Drinking Water Project from Sunday afternoon.
With the authority distributing water in Chabahil, Saraswatinagar, Maijubahal, Jay Bageshwori, Gaushala and Airport area of the Valley, the much-awaited supply of the basic need for the Valley residents has turned into a reality. High level officials of the KUKL inaugurated the water supply distribution from the project for the first time.
80,000 taps in the Valley getting Melamchi Drinking Water start...
Milan Kumar Shakya, chief executive officer of the KUKL, said they have been distributing water in these areas from the KUKL’s reserve tank in Mahankalchaur for six hours starting from 2PM on Sunday. According to him, they will be supplying water in Anamnagar, Ghattekulo and Dillibazaar area from 8PM to midnight on the same day.
Shakya said they have planned to distribute drinking water from the Melamchi Drinking Water Project to the KUKL clients on alternate days.
