KATHMANDU, Jan 1: The Nepali Congress Nuwakot district branch has handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today, calling on the government to provide medical treatment to the people injured in course of the elections, including to Upendra Mishra.
Mishra, a student, accompanying former Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat in his election campaign, was injured in the bomb explosion carried out at Kakani rural municipality targeting Dr Mahat's election publicity campaign in the run up to the elections.
A team led by the Nepali Congress Nuwakot District Committee president Jagadishwar Narsingh KC handed over the memorandum to the Prime Minister at the PM residence at Baluwatar.

The delegation also called for providing additional Rs 200 thousand to the earthquake survivors for reconstruction of their damaged houses saying the money the government has provided to them was not adequate for the purpose.
The memorandum also calls for making Nuwakot the temporary capital of Province no. 3, arguing that even Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of Nepal, had seen Nuwakot as the appropriate place to be made a capital.
In the meeting, PM Deuba said that he was serious on the demands put forth by the delegation and would take the appropriate decision on these matters after holding necessary consultations, according to Niranjan Thapa, a student leader who was part of the delegation. RSS
