The implementation of the Legacy Trees Program will be carried out by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with their implementing partner Ecoculture. Since its inception at the end of 2023, the program has successfully planted 7,000 trees in Bara, supporting the local ecosystem and fostering hope and resilience.

The trees planted through this program are expected to sequester approximately 764 metric tons of carbon dioxide, prevent around 3,220 gallons of water runoff, and remove roughly 11.88 tons of air pollutants over 40 years, according to estimates by the Arbor Day Foundation. In line with MetLife's commitment to sustainability, the reforestation initiative aims to create long-term employment opportunities, foster community support, and provide environmental education and training.
