Minister Ale urged to take initiative to resume Kathmandu-Moscow direct flight

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Non-resident trade representative of Russia Alexander Rybas paid a courtesy call on Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale. 


During the meeting held at the Ministry on Wednesday, Rybas urged Minister Ale to take initiative for conducting direct flights between Kathmandu and Moscow.

On the occasion, the envoy requested the Minister to forward the activities collaborating between the two countries in the sector of Nepal-Russia business, trade and tourism promotion. The Russian representative also inquired about the number of Russian aircrafts and helicopters that Nepal needed. 


There had been direct flights between Kathmandu and Moscow in the past but it was suspended due to various reasons. 


On the occasion, Minister Ale shared that Nepal Airlines was ready to collaborate if Russia provided helicopters at a concessional rate. He expressed the commitment that he would take necessary initiatives to operate Kathmandu-Moscow direct flight.
