KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusa has urged all sectors to increase their electricity consumption.

Minister Bhusal also urged them to increase the use of electric vehicles. Speaking at an inaugural ceremony of an oxygen plant at Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister Bhusal urged all the sectors to contribute to the nation's economy by increasing their use of electricity. Minister Bhusal also said that the government is working towards reducing the trade deficit of the country by increasing the consumption of electricity. She said that the government has even reduced the tariff rate of electricity to increase its consumption.


Minister Bhusal also mentioned that the government has signed an agreement with India for the trade of electricity. Stating that the community hospitals were making significant contributions in the health care of the community and that the government is committed to providing necessary assistance to those hospitals. Arguing that there is a constitutional provision that every local government should make proper arrangements for education and health, Minister Bhusal said that it is being implemented.
