High-ranking govt officials including ministers flock to flood-hit areas (with video)

RAUTAHAT, July 17: High-level government officials and ministers have flocked to the flood-hit areas in different parts of the country with a view to monitoring the havoc wreaked.


The team includes Former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal, Health Minister Upendra Yadav, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Physical Infrastructure Minister Raghubir Mahaseth and Energy Minister Barshaman Pun.

Likewise, the team also includes State Minister for Agriculture Ramkumari Chaudhary, Development and Technology Committee Chair Kalyani Khadka and lawmaker Prabhu Sah.


The death toll from floods and landslides since Thursday has reached 78. Dozens of people are still missing.  According to the latest report by the Ministry of Home Affairs ( MoHA), 40 people have been injured in the monsoon-triggered floods and landslides. Similarly, they have displaced 17,420 people across the country. As many as 3,366 people have been rescued so far.
